new housing support programs coming to Halifax Public Libraries starting in October! They are excited to partner with Dalhousie Legal Aid, the Elizabeth Fry Society of Mainland NS, and Nova Scotia Legal Aid to provide more access to housing and legal support in the community.

⚖ Dalhousie Legal Aid Tenancy Support
Drop in to speak with representatives with Dalhousie Legal Aid for support with tenancy and housing issues. They can answer residential tenancy questions, accessing legal aid, referrals, and tenancy rights & housing information.
Please bring all necessary documents (ex: copy of lease contracts, application(s) filed by you or your landlord, notice(s) or order(s) issued, any form of communication between you and the landlord, and relevant evidence.

These will be taking place at Sackville, Alderney Gate Dartmouth, and Captain William Spry (Spryfield) Public Libraries as well!

🏡 Housing Support with Elizabeth Fry Society of NS
Drop in to speak with Housing Support Workers from the Elizabeth Fry Society of Mainland Nova Scotia, on the following:
Housing search tips: pet-friendly companies, where to look, landlord information, identifying housing/rental scams. Rental Subsidy applications: (Please bring required documents: Lease require, Proof of Income, & direct deposit form/void cheque). By Name List (BNL) intake. There will be bus tickets and snacks provided.
E. Fry’s mandate is women, girls, non-binary and gender-diverse peoples, however anyone is welcome to come to these library drop-in sessions. They are open to the community.

They can assist with applying for Nova Scotia Legal Aid Services, questions about court documents and forms, and provide additional resources. No appointment required!
